It is AWFUL. It has all the beauty and softness of asphalt. Sooo, I was wondering if anyone thinks that ripping out the rivets, and replacing with drop-cloth would work? I don't know if glue would be a permanent thing, but Vandyke's restorers has the ones that are pre-spaced. I don't mind spending the time on it, but I'd like to know if anyone thinks it would wind up being a waste of time. BTW, I'm not looking for it to be perfect-looking - I don't mind if it has some frays and appearance of wear. Any feedback would be really appreciated!donaflorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07011027632598956940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2258878271483574043.post-44942546955369067002013-08-21T14:13:08.358-07:002013-08-21T14:13:08.358-07:00Looks good! I used about 3/4 of a gallon, then I added the fabric and soaked it for several hours. If it still looks too dark, do it again. This happened with my sofa and I just repeated it. It's worth the wait, oh and the whole downstairs smells really, really, clean ;)Christy plantedandbloominggirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12103033938558296868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2258878271483574043.post-65887273293256763492013-06-12T18:40:57.353-07:002013-06-12T18:40:57.353-07:00Hi -:-) I have bleached drop cloth also but mine ...Hi -:-) I have bleached drop cloth also but mine doesn't look nearly as light as yours, what method did you use? I wish I was talented enough to try to redo my couches but I don't think I better try that yet. Thanks for the great posts.Laurie S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07209148316426570882noreply@blogger.com
